We had a great crowd of members and guests attend our June Member Meeting + Art Talk this week.
Guest speaker, David Chalker, shared a wealth of information to help artists turn their art hobby into a business. From understanding business entity types and the pros and cons of each, to collecting sales tax, to various avenues to sell artwork – we learned a lot and shared our own personal experiences.
For those who were on the fence – how interesting can the topic be? Chalker set us all at ease with a presentation that was not only professional but easy to understand. It was also amusing to see how the subject of “sales tax” got the crowd talking!
After the presentation all attendees had the opportunity to vote for their favorite artwork for Artist of the Month.
Brent Boudreaux won 1st place for “Arkansas Stream”, while Marilyn Henrion secured 2nd place for “Night Shadows”. Congrats to both artists!
