Supplies
Surface – 11” x 14” -20” x 16” is a good size for this class Canvas or mixed media paper work
I use Mixed media sheets 17” x 20” that you can cut into smaller sheets—Bring what you need for 2 days.
Brushes – 2-3 brushes ¼” -1” I use inexpensive brushes that I find in the craft section.
Gluing medium I use Liquitex matte medium or Modge Podge matte medium. Gel mediums work well with heavy papers.
Paint – I use many brands and find that for mixed media Artists Loft, Liquitex and even the craft paints work well. Bring what you like but it helps to keep your palette a little bit limited.
I use Payne’s Gray, Titanium white, Titan buff, Cadmium Red, Yellow oxide, Alizarin crimson, Cerulean blue and Turquoise
Winsor Newton at Michaels has a super Powder Blue and Opera a great pink and Pale Olive these 3 colors are great for accents.
Mixing palette – paper plates are great and a plastic palette knife
*If you have water soluble crayons or pencils they are a good tool to bring but not necessary
Collage papers—Gelli prints, store bought papers, any special saved papers lightweight works best
BRING WHAT YOU HAVE DO NOT STRESS OVER SUPPLIES We can share!!
Bio-Artist Statement
Lynne creates expressive abstract art and alternately works in Mixed Media.
Educated with a BFA in Drawing and Painting, she taught art in public schools for 25 years. After retiring from teaching, she began making art full-time. She has participated in area art organizations, serving on several boards.
Lynne’s work has been juried into many local, regional and state competitions and she has won numerous awards. Her paintings and mixed media pieces are in many collections across the country.
My passion in creating abstract art is to explore and manipulate layers of color and use mark making to create a visual narrative. Alternately, I work with layers of collage papers, old photographs and paint to create mixed media conversations.
Exploring the mystery of layers of paint as well as collage materials, I invite the viewer to participate in the conversation.
