The Visual Art League of Lewisville is a non-profit, ALL volunteer organization. Whether you have a little or a lot of time to dedicate to our group, we are grateful.
Volunteer opportunities:
PHOTOGRAPHER
Description: We are ALWAYS in need of photos. Use your camera phone, your point-and-shoot or DSLR camera (RAW file format NOT needed) to capture our events.
Events include: monthly meetings, opening receptions, ColorPalooza, Western Days, Intake, Hanging, Paid Workshops, Free Workshops, etc. Any event that the VAL is participating in - we'd like photos.
How to get started? Show up to the events, take photos and send them to Denise Holguin, the Social Media Chair.
VOLUNTEER FOR INTAKE, HANGING AND STRIKE
Description: Be the smiling face that greets artists as they drop off their artwork during intake. Guide them to sign in, verify their information and invite them to opening receptions, etc. Help the curator hang art in the Main Gallery or North Corridor. Help the curator arrange artwork in the North Display Case. Strike volunteers welcome artists as they pick up their artwork at the end of an exhibition.

CURATOR
Description: Are you organized? Do you thrive handling details? Do you get a rush when you are able to cross off tasks on your to-do list? Do you love working with people? Is data entry a breeze? If you answered yes, then step up to become a curator! All first-time curators receive an in-person training and begin with a North Corridor exhibition. Every exhibition is a team effort - our goal is to have a positive and successful experience for everyone.
