The visual arts are a dynamic, exciting place for individual expression and the communication of important ideas to viewers of art. Christine will introduce you to Studio Thinking, a set of 8 Studio Habits of Mind that will strengthen your own art making and take you deeper into your creative process. Attendees will learn:
- The habits of artists
- How artists make decisions when there is no right or wrong.
- Which Studio Habits do artists already use consciously, and which habits can be strengthened.
- Working with the Studio Habits is a deliberate way individuals can power up their artistic practice!
Artist Bio:
Christine is a life long fiber artist with experience in weaving, sewing, basketry, embroidery, felting, dyeing, knitting, crochet, and fiber sculpture. She is a former visual arts educator with local, state, and national arts education recognition. She continues teaching in k12 programs through her Visiting Artist presentation of Fibers in 21st c. STEAM applications. Her book, Weaving with Wire: Creating Woven Metal Fabric, was published through Schiffer Publishers in June 2023. • Visual Art League of Lewisville members are encouraged to bring a piece of artwork for the Artist of the Month. First and second place awards will be given.
• Non-members and guests are welcome to attend and learn more about the Visual Art League of Lewisville. Artists of all skill levels and visual art mediums are welcome.
